Healthy Protein-packed Oatmeal + #FriYAY

Fridays have become one of my favorite days of the week.

I have become super fond of Fridays not only because I keep getting the day off from work but also because my favorite workout class happens Friday mornings.  Step class.  Which doesn't necessarily sound like it's all that much but let me tell you it's quite the workout.  I burn around 500- 600 calories in a class and take about 10,000 steps.  And at the end I'm drenched in my own sweat.  It's also a major booty burner and if you know me you know how I feel about dat booty!

My Fridays have become very routine.  I wake up have my coffee and maybe a protein shake or a banana and then I'm running out the door to get to step.  After step, I grab my venti toasted coconut cold brew from Starbucks (only 80 cals) and do a little grocery shopping for the week.  Afterwards, I'm usually shaking because I'm so hungry so I whip up something with some good protein for recovery.


Well today was no different. Except for I really wanted oatmeal for some strange reason. But let me tell you I probably made some of the most delicious protein-packed oatmeal I have ever eaten. It's filling, delicious, and gives you everything in one meal... my new breakfast go-to for sure! Try it and let me know what you think!

Protein-packed Oatmeal

1/2 cup Oats                                  

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1/2 sliced banana

1 Tbl peanut butter

1 tsp mini choc chips

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp honey or maple syrup for sweetness

In a microwavable bowl, combine oats and almond milk.  Microwave on high for about 2 minutes.  There should still be a lot of liquid left.  Stir in protein powder, cinnamon, peanut butter, and honey or maple syrup.  Top with banana and chocolate chips. 

How easy is that?!?!
